I am a numbers guy who plunged into digital marketing way back when the idea of web analytics was new. While working as a stock analyst, I offered to help evaluate data from a “new” platform called SiteCatalyst from Omniture.
I immediately fell in love with the idea that you could use data to optimize the content that was being produced. My early work there quickly developed into an obsession with pulling the various digital levers that drive more visitors, leads, and sales.
With more than a decade in digital marketing, I have:
- devised the content strategy that propelled a site to a #1 ranking according to Alexa
- directed email marketing programs responsible for generating more than $2 million/year
- managed 5- and 6-figure monthly search engine/marketing budgets
- led a team of 8 inbound content writers
- hired, trained, and managed a team of in-house copywriters
- built out a digital marketing department from the ground up
- implemented two separate instances of Marketo marketing automation
- implemented an Infusionsoft marketing automation instance
- managed a Pardot marketing automation instance
- mapped out and executed an 18-month lead nurturing campaign
- directed A/B and multivariate testing for landing page optimization
- launched virtual training programs for both internal and external use
- tripled the number of new leads coming to a website
- wrote a stock market blog that generated 1 million page views a month
